My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh. Em. GEEEEEEE. OLIVER!!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about this cat!
Oliver was rescued from a horrific situation where he was barely surviving on the street. He was super skinny, had a severe limp, and had an obvious issue with his left eye. He had every reason to hate people but he was SOOOO LOVING AND KIND right from the start. He was clearly in pain and afraid, but seemed comforted by finally being safe inside.
After getting checked by a vet, it was determined that Oliver's left rear leg had been broken and then started to heal incorrectly. This was causing him a ton of pain and the best option for him was to amputate. After that bad leg was removed, Oliver started to shine!!!! He started playing with toys, being more outgoing, following his foster mom around everywhere. Oliver is such a special boy!!! He is like the hero of a 1990s kids adventure movie. HE'S A GOONIE! And he is an absolutely perfect cat. He may have 3 legs, but trust me, you would never even know! He loves to sit on his window seat and cuddle with his foster buddy.
Oliver is neutered, microchipped, combo tested (neg/neg), flea treated, dewormed, and cute as ever. You will notice his left eye is "cloudy": no worries!!! He has been thoroughly evaluated by a vet and it has been determined that his eye is fine. Most likely had an infection due to his previous horrific living conditions, but it actually healed itself. His vision is minimal in that eye but he has no issues! Since he is a tri-pod, it would be recommended for his future adopter to make some slight accommodations for him, like carpet runners on the steps. He is a tough and resilient boy so he can handle almost anything!!!
If you want a sweet, cuddly, playful, WARRIOR of a boy, Oliver is your man! He is ok with other cats with the appropriate introductions, and would actually be great with an older cat. His current foster "roommate" is 10+ years old and has cancer, and Oliver is SOOOOO gentle and kind to him.

We are an at-home foster and foster from our homes. When you apply please be specific as to what cat you are interested in, as they are often not fostered in the same place.

More about this rescue

Conquer the Colony is a 501c3 non-profit cat rescue. We are an in-home fostering rescue - meaning we foster from our own homes and do not have a central shelter space. Our main focus and mission is TNR - the trap, neuter, and return of feral cats. We are a small rescue that relies solely on donations and volunteer time. We work tirelessly to improve the lives of all cats, both feral and friendly.
