Champagne is just as fancy and elegant as her name... and just like the after-effects of her namesake, she can cause some unexpected snorts and giggles. She has gorgeous long hair, one blue eye, and she snores like a sailor! She is looking for a very special forever home who appreciates all aspects of her personality.
Champagne is a 1.5 year old Scottish Fold/Exotic mix who came to Cameron Animal Hospital when her owner could no longer care for her. She is FeLV/FIV (-/-); is spayed; has received her full series of FVRCP (distemper) and rabies vaccines; has been fecal tested and dewormed; and has her microchip. She also has many of the quirks that commonly affect Scottish Folds/Exotics- including tearing eyes, waxy ears, and snoring. However, she is very patient about having her eyes and ears cleaned, and she does not have any infections. Most importantly, Champagne has hip dysplasia, meaning that her hip sockets were not formed correctly, which will cause her to develop arthritis in the future. While none of these issues are life threatening, they will require various levels of veterinary treatment over the course of her lifetime, including significant care for her hips, and any potential adopter must be prepared to provide that care. Therefore we are looking for an adopter who has an extensive veterinary history and who understands what this may entail.
Champagne knows she is beautiful, and loves being admired and complimented by everyone she meets. She loves being pet, and even enjoys being brushed. While Champagne loves all people she meets, she is much less fond of other animals- she obviously feels that all of the attention should be on her. She may tolerate the presence of a calm, older dog. But she does not like young or energetic dogs, and finds other cats annoying at best. Although Champagne is generally a calm girl, she does enjoy playing with toys, and has short bursts of energy and silly activity.
Please email CAHadoptions@gmail.com for more information about Champagne; please include in your email that you have read about her medical conditions, and that you have an extensive previous veterinary reference.
Please note that we do not adopt outside of the NJ/NY area.
