Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Juno is a 7 year old female mixed breed dog (Border Collie, German Shepherd, Doberman, Great Pyrenees). She weighs 58 pounds and is in excellent health. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She was rescued in 2021 at the age of 3, after being picked up as a stray dog from a rural part of Northern CA. Due to her lack of early socialization and strong herding/guarding breeds, she takes time to warm to new people and can be protective of her home. She has fear-based aggression and is reactive to dogs and strangers. For the last three years, she has been in a loving home where she has undergone significant training to adjust to a more social suburban/urban life. When given the time she needs to slowly warm up to new people and environments, she forms the most loving and loyal bonds. She works with a Veterinary Behaviorist and recently completed an 8 week Board and Train program. She is exceptionally smart and obedient. She loves to play games, learn new things, cuddle, be outdoors, and spend quality time with her people. She unfortunately is in the position where her current caregiver (a young full-time high school teacher and after-school Drama program director who lives in an apartment in SF) no longer has the time or resources to provide the care Juno deserves. There used to be another caregiver in the home who was home more often. With this person gone, Juno has been forced to be left alone for long periods while her caregiver is at work. She has sadly developed separation anxiety. Given her behavioral challenges, group doggy day care is not an option and finding affordable individualized daily dog care for 10-12 hours is near impossible. She is looking for a home with a fenced backyard, ideally somewhere more rural and quiet than Bay Area urban/suburban neighborhoods. She needs a home without young children or other pets (or, an owner who knows how to slowly introduce dogs to one another - she has formed bonds with other dogs before). She also ideally needs an owner who is either retired or works from home, and someone who is willing to take the time to learn strategies to help manage her behavioral needs. Her trainer is willing to provide virtual consultations to any new owner and give guidance and insight into her needs. She is really the sweetest and most special dog in the world. She deserves a chance to live out the second half of her life in an environment where she can thrive and be happy. For inquiries, please contact Talia Cain at taliacain3@gmail.com
