Rushdie entered Riverside County Department of Animal Services as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on September 9th to become a Frosted Face.
Rushdie is 13 years old and weighs 11.5 lbs. He is a sweet and gentle boy, who enjoys being held and is a kind friend to the other little dogs in our play yard. Be sure to watch the adorable video of him and Hubba Bubba playing!
A volunteer took Rushdie on an outing to a pumpkin patch, and they all had a great time! Rushdie was wonderful with our volunteer's young son, rode nicely in the car, and loved walking around and exploring the pumpkin patch.
Rushdie is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home environment. He is earning rave reviews! His Fling Dad reports:
"Rushdie is a little angel! He has such a gentle, curious attitude and makes the most soulful eye contact. Rusdhie is super agile and seems to fly right up onto the couch or bed, no problem. He gets along with every dog he's met, including some lively bigger dogs. He's potty-trained and takes medicated eye-drops without a fuss. He's a brisk walker, and was very curious but respectful exploring at Fiesta Island.
Rushdie brings a lot of joy everywhere we go! This little guy has trotted through the neighborhood, met lots of dogs big and small, gone out to crowded places in a sling, sniffed politely around the pet store, dressed up like a hot dog for Halloween, kayaked in an adorable life jacket, and trotted around the dog park.
Rushdie loves to eat, snacks on carrots, and always licks his bowl clean. He doesn't bark, and he's peppy and active, but happy to snuggle, too. Rushdie has even convinced me to let him on the bed after telling myself I wouldn't!
He is super curious and respects other dogs' boundaries even if they get in his face. He would be a great as the only pup in the home or part of a pack.
Rushdie is ready to meet you and see if it's a match!"
Be sure to watch the adorable video of Rushdie's post-bath zoomies!
Rushdie is ready to bring lots of love and fun to your life. To meet him, please adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org
