Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rushdie entered Riverside County Department of Animal Services as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on September 9th to become a Frosted Face.
Rushdie is 13 years old and weighs 11.5 lbs. He is a sweet and gentle boy, who enjoys being held and gets along well with the other little dogs in our play yard. Be sure to watch the adorable video of him playing with one of his Frosted Friends!
Rushdie went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what he is like in a home environment. He is earned rave reviews! His Fling Dad reports:
"Rushdie is the perfect mix of chill and adventurous! This sweet senior loves nothing more than curling up on the couch for a cozy nap but also lights up when he's out and about, exploring the neighborhood, soaking up the sun, or enjoying off-leash freedom at the dog park. Rushdie great at coming when called and sometimes listens to "stay" (hey, nobody's perfect). And let's not forget his adorable post-bath zoomies - they're pure joy in motion!
At home, Rushdie's an adaptable guy. He's been great about holding his potty for 4-5 hours, though I'm confident he could manage 6-7 if needed. Rushdie has great leash manners and is a pro at leisurely 2-3 block walks and can even go longer when the mood strikes.
Rushdie shines around other dogs. He's met pups of all shapes and sizes, from a sweet older pittie to nosy big dogs at the park, and gets along with everyone. While he's not super playful at the dog park, he's respectful and easygoing, making him a great fit for a pack or as a solo companion.
This little guy's patience and curiosity are unmatched. He's been gentle and calm with everyone he's met, including kids who've reached out for pets. He's even started trusting my neighbor to give him back scratches-his new favorite thing!
Rushdie is full of life and love. He's been a joy to have at home and is ready for his forever family. While I work from home and haven't left him for more than 2-3 hours, he's super quiet and only lets out a low whine when I return.
Rushdie loves to snuggle in bed, and I can't say no to that sweet face. He sleeps through the night like a champ and wakes up ready for breakfast-it's the cutest routine! Despite his frosty gray face, Rushdie's energy and zest for life will surprise you."
Rushdie's Fling has been extended while he waits for a forever home. Might that be with you?
