My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Max! I am a middle-aged boy that was brought to the shelter as a stray. I've been through quite a bit in my five years of life. I spent my years as an outdoor dog, and unfortunately was not well taken care of. I did develop some pretty bad ear infections which ultimately led to tissue damage that caused me a great deal of pain. Once I arrived here though, the wonderful staff jumped right into action and helped me and my poor ears, eventually having surgery to repair the damage that was caused. Now, I am no longer in pain, and ready to start my forever with a home of my own! I am a pretty chill dude overall. When I am excited, however, I will pull and jump a bit, but I quickly settle down once the excitement dies down. I am friendly with most people, but small kids I may be too much for given my size. I am fairly gentle though! I do tend to get overwhelmed by certain dogs and will react towards them, so if I were to potentially share a home with another dog, I would need a proper introduction to them first to make sure it is a good fit. I enjoy pets, scratches, and hanging out, but I will also play and go for walks when I have the energy. Do I sound like I may be your guy? I'm just a big ball of love that needs a home to call my own! I'd love to meet you!
