My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well, this girl may not be a Great Pyrenees but she is a Great Dane which basically makes them the same thing right? At least, if you can overlook that she looks like a really awkward cross of a foal and a Labrador Retriever with Dumbo-sized ears. Got that picture? Good. Joking aside, this girl is pretty darn special. Vin's story started when she was found wandering, with no one stepping up to claim her. We couldn’t say no to her face (seriously, how could you?), so here she is—ready to steal your heart and probably your couch.

Vin is all ears...and legs..and body...actually let's just say since she is a Dane mix everything is bigger...kinda like Texas(I expect Texas dwellers to appreciate that little shout-out considering we are in Oklahoma). Vin is around 11 weeks old, and already 21lbs which means she is on her way to becoming the dog version of Black Beauty—and not too far off in size either! If your definition of a "big dog" tops out at 60 pounds, you might want to keep scrolling because we’re expecting her to hit close to 100 pounds... all legs, of course, which will make her seem even bigger! Prepare for a world where people either stop you to gush about how enormous she is, or back away unsure of what just walked up to them. Especially since Vin doesn't know a stranger. Vin is the social butterfly of the canine world—everyone is her new best friend, and she’s more than happy to sprint over to greet them, which means you’ve got to be strong enough to handle her enthusiasm. If the wind can throw you off balance on a walk, Vin's probably not the pup for you. And if you’re the type to trip over your own feet? Well... she’s definitely not the dog for you. Families with super small kids might also want to think twice. While Vin adores little humans, her size will have them on the floor more than their feet. And let’s be real, the bigger the dog, the more they think they’re a lapdog, right?

Speaking of other dogs, Vin’s a fan! But keep in mind, she’s already a big girl, and she’s only getting bigger. So, while your 20-pound pup might be a great playmate now, it won’t be long before Vin's paw is bigger than them. She’s best suited for a home with another large dog that can keep up with her playful energy. Grumpy senior dogs, however, need not apply. Vin’s energy level will drive them bananas. While Vin would be happiest with another dog to play with, she could handle the solo life as well. As long as her new family was active and had a big yard for her to romp around in. Now, if you're a fan of apartment living, sorry—Vin is not apartment material. Unless you want to spend your life navigating around 100 lbs of dog and dealing with angry neighbors who think you're hiding a small horse upstairs. Vin has not been around any sacks of meow, but given her age, she would probably be fine with them. However, your cat may not appreciate the new bundle of energy you have brought home who is constantly wanting to play with them and giving them boops...so just beware that they may be plotting both her demise and yours for daring to bring such a creature into their territory.

Vin is an energetic girl who spends her day playing with the other dogs, splashing around in the water, ensuring that all the toys receive proper attention, and fetching those toys that seem to just keep flying through the air and trying to run away from her. With her energy level, we can easily see this girl going everywhere with her people. From walks to hikes to cafes to lowes and anywhere else that accepts dogs. We think she would be the star of the show everywhere she goes, but this is the part where you need to make sure you can handle such a big and happy-go-lucky girl. Because trust me....not everyone is going to get as excited as me when a big ole horse of a dog comes running my way for pets and lovings. As far as car rides go, she will hop right in..ready for an adventure with her people. Vin could handle the homebody life as long as she had another dog to keep her entertained and help get some of her energy out. However, she could not handle a life where her people were gone all day long and she was left all alone to her devices...or even worse behind bars. This girl needs lots of stimulation and exercise.

As big as Vin is already, you may forget that she is still a puppy...but she is. So, if you adopt her you are also agreeing to work with her on her potty training, socialization, and training. This is not the kind of dog you can adopt and lock up in your house until adulthood then suddenly decide you want to take her places with you everywhere or throw a whole bunch of change at her. She needs to grow up being exposed to new things and making new friends with different people and animals. As far as training, can you imagine if you never taught her anything and she is suddenly in her teenage stage and 100+lbs? Yeah...no one wants to take that one so be sure you are working with her right from the getco on her manners. She is already kennel trained though so that is helpful.

If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who doesn’t get on the furniture, sorry to burst your bubble—Vin loves cuddles and will absolutely join you on the couch. And when she’s 100+ pounds? She’ll still think she’s the perfect lap dog, just like when she was a puppy. Her size might change, but her love for you and cuddles won’t! Vin is in her teething phase so you better believe that any left-out shoes, remotes, or newspapers will be fair game. And you better start learning to keep your counters clear of food and items, otherwise they will soon find themselves on the floor...or in her tummy. Depends on how tasty it is!

Have you ever seen the movie Bolt and his super bark? Well, that is the kind of bark this girl is going to have. Currently, she mainly only barks when she is outside patrolling the yard with the other dogs, and let's be honest...its not very menacing. But one day in the near future, you are going to hear her bark and you are going to be startled because her big girl voice will have shown up, and at that time both you...and your neighbors better be ready to hear her sing the song of her people when she feels its appropriate.

Vin isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for her people. The ones who won’t mind her goofy antics, her oversized cuddles, or the way she thinks she's a lapdog even when she’s towering over you. She’s ready to be your sidekick on every adventure, your co-pilot on road trips, and your personal foot warmer during Netflix marathons (though, let’s be honest, she’ll probably end up hogging the couch). So, if you’ve got room in your heart (and on your couch) for a giant, floppy-eared goofball with the potential to star in her own “Vin the Magnificent” movie one day, then grab the leash, buckle up, and get ready for a whirlwind of fun. Just remember—she may be big, but her love is even bigger!
