My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Weight: 5 kg

Pixie may be reserved and timid at first, but there's a whole lot of personality to this pretty kitty! With her fearful nature, she'll need a quiet, mature audience (no kids, please!) who have a good understanding of cat body language; in her old home, she would hiss and even scratch at new people who ignored her cues for more space. Those willing to go slow with her are in for a real treat, as Pixie has shown that she is actually chatty, affectionate, and surprisingly playful! She's also a champion head bonker and will soak up all of the pets she can get! With her fear of dogs, she'll need a canine-free home, and it's unknown how she would get along with another cat. Give Pixie her second chance by adopting her today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
