Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Tag, you're it."
It is funny how one simple sentence can mean so many different things. For example, it can mean that Tag is the bee's knees from his gorgeous markings to his too-cute-for-words underbite. It can mean that he is the bomb diggity(Oh yeah, I went there) with his personality. Sweet, loving, and happy to befriend anyone he meets...be it a dog, those sacks of meows, new people, or even a dang butterfly! It can also mean, that YOU are it and this is your sign to adopt Tag.
Tag is a 6-month-old, 48lb male English Shepherd mix that honestly...I think is probably one of the cutest dogs I have ever seen...and that is saying a lot. When you look at this guy though, your heart just melts. From his amazing facial markings that are different shades of brown, to his gorgeous eyes that have better eyeliner and mascara on them than most girls I know, to his freaking underbite...guys that underbite is killer. How do you not fall in love with this dog when he plops himself right in front of you and stares at you with that smile?! Not to mention when he looks up at you with those big ole eyes and gives you a little head tilt...like he has no idea just how freaking adorable he is and is wondering why you are staring at him all lovey-dovey.
Tag isn't just a pretty face though, no....this pup has one of the best personalities around. He loves other dogs. He will happily play, run, and tumble with them outdoors and have the time of his life. When he comes back inside, he may occasionally engage in the "lazy" play where both dogs flop onto their sides and act like they are playing thumb war...but with their mouths. And of course, you can't forget about the lazy rolling around until they finally just fall asleep next to each other. Tag is also a HUGE fan of playing tug-o-war with other dogs, definitely no worries about sharing with Tag. Instead of hoarding, he will be letting everyone know that he will happily share his things with them. Tag, has even cracked the codes with cats if you can believe it. Yep, this pup has won over the cats so much that not only have they accepted him but they will also engage in play with him and will even do a bit of that slow-motion indoor wrestling. It is both the cutest and most "how in the world" kind of thing to watch. Tag has not been around any little hoomans yet, but given his personality, we are guessing that he would be their best friend. He is such a lovebug and has yet to meet anyone who isn't immediately classified as a friend for him. Tag would absolutely be that person who jumps into a shady-looking van if there was the promise of something as simple as friendship....and given his looks...you may soon find the whole neighborhood asking about him on walks and wondering where in the world you found a teddy bear with an underbite.
Speaking of walks, Tag does well on the leash but he may need some extra encouragement from time to time if he isn't sure where you are going. There is no need to worry though, because soon this boy is going to be the kind of pup you can take everywhere with you. From cafes to parks to Lowe's, this boy is going to be your shining star. He may need a little help getting into the car, but once in he is an awesome ride. He would love getting to join his family on all their adventures, especially if he had another doggie friend to learn from. Without one, it may take a little longer for him to feel comfortable with the social scene but we do believe in time he would do great. And if you are more of a homebody, no need to worry! Tag says that is just fine too! Tag would be perfectly content spending the majority of his time at home playing with his toy, a doggie friend, cuddling with his people, and romping around in the yard. Now, we probably should mention that Tag is a water enthusiast. He believes that water makes everything greater! So, sometimes he may splash around in the water bowl to create a slip-and-slide. For the most part, he has learned that indoors isn't exactly the best place for that so he tries to stick to only doing that with the water bucket outside. Yep, this fella will happily drag it around ensuring that water sloshes around everywhere before playing with the bucket in all that glorious spilled water! However, he isn't above occasionally seeking out the water bowl in the house to dunk one of his toys into it to be sure he gets that "splash" of added fun!
As far as his house manners, they are just as perfect as him. There is no worry about him chewing up your house and getting into all your favorite things. Now, one would hope that your favorite things are kept out of reach just to be safe since Tag is still a puppy. We should probably also mention that he does have other dogs to keep him entertained so if he were to be adopted to a home that thinks the best place to show off all their things is...well...everywhere...and there are no other dogs to keep him distracted...then that might be a different story. ;) Tag knows that pottying is for the great outdoors and keeps a clean house. As long as he has a good routine to follow that is. He isn't quite ready to be left alone for a full workday in that regard, and understandably so. Name me any 6-month-old baby that can go all day without having an accident. ;) Tag has never been kenneled as it has not been necessary for him. He wouldn't thrive in a home where his people are gone all day long and is expected to spend the majority of his day behind bars. Tag would do best in a home with another dog to play and have fun with, or he could be just as happy as an only dog if his new family were home the majority of the day.
I dare you to find a more amazing pup than Tag. Yeah yeah yeah, I know you are going to tell me that your current dogs are the greatest...and you know what...you are probably right..I am sure they are just as amazing as Tag and I really think Tag needs to become part of your family because he will certainly make that statement that much more true! ;) So, I say again..."Tag, you're it." We shared some of the cutest photos ever of this dog and shared just how amazing his personality is. Now, it is up to you. The ball is in your court now.....either make him part of your family or give him a share...because if you can't welcome this face into your family...maybe a friend can and then it will be a win-win situation!
