My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tutankhamun Grayson, affectionately known as Grayson, is a large, sweet grey cat with a gentle soul, seeking a forever home where he can thrive in peace and quiet. Grayson has had a rough time adjusting to change, especially when he was surrendered due to not getting along with the mother's other pets after moving in. This shy boy doesn't do well with other animals, so he needs a home where he can be the sole focus of attention. His ideal environment is one without children or other pets, where he can relax and feel safe. Grayson is a talker, and he loves to carry on conversations, making him a real companion who always wants to be close to his person. His gentle, loving nature shines through when he's brushed, and he finds joy in playing with his favorite crinkle balls.

Grayson is more than just a pet; he's an emotionally tuned-in companion who senses when his person is stressed and does his best to offer comfort. Though shy and reserved at first, Grayson's affectionate side blossoms when he feels secure, and he will follow you around, eager to be near. His previous owner, heartbroken to let him go, wants his new adopter to know just how loving Grayson is, and that he simply needs a calm, quiet home where he can give and receive love without fear. Grayson's heart is big, and he's ready to fill his new home with warmth and companionship. If you're looking for a loyal, loving cat who will always be by your side, Grayson is the perfect match.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
