My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spuds is lovingly known in his foster home as “Spuddy Buddy” because all he wants to do is be your friend! He is a true socialite, always curious about the goings on in the home but never overly intrusive. He loves to chat with you and tell you all about his day. He is also a great snuggler. He even hugs you when he cuddles with you (photo evidence included)! He is so incredibly sweet and loves to make himself at home on his foster parents’ laps on the couch. He is easy to handle and is ok with being picked up to be snuggled as well.

Spuds also is very playful and pretty high energy! He LOVES wand toys and bouncy ball toys. He will make you laugh with his high jumps and tendency to drag his toys around. He benefits from playtime a few times per day and also really enjoys looking out the windows at the birds or watching birds on TV for enrichment. He lives with a crew of other cats currently and does well with other cats who share his energy level! His zest for playtime can be a little much for the lower-energy, senior cats in the home but he does great with other cats who he can play with.

Spuds was rescued after a community member found him outside with a temporary condition called “entropion” which meant that his eyelashes were growing on the wrong side. He had surgery a few months ago and is doing wonderfully! He will not require any special medications or any ongoing medical treatment outside of yearly vet visits.

Spuds Springfield is around a year old and is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
