My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings, I'm Stafford, a distinguished 4-year-old gentleman with a stature that matches my refined demeanor. With my commanding presence and eloquent charm, I bring a touch of sophistication to every moment. I'm not just a big dog; I'm a connoisseur of leisurely strolls, cozy evenings by the fireplace, and the fine art of being a devoted companion. Though my size may be impressive, my heart is even grander, brimming with loyalty and grace. Whether you're seeking a stately walking partner or a gentle, loving friend to share quiet moments, I am poised and ready to elevate your life with my dignified presence. Shall we embark on this elegant journey together?

Anytime during open hours, no appointment needed. We also house adoptable cats at the Horseheads and Ithaca PetSmarts as well as Sondra's City Zoo in Elmira. Every other month, we alternate off-site adoption events between IRFCU in Sayre, PA and the Williamsport PetSmart.

More about this shelter

Our lifesaving mission envisions a community that promotes turning compassion into action for dogs and cats by adopting healthy animals into loving homes, promoting the human-animal bond through outreach, education and advocacy, spaying and neutering to end the suffering of overpopulation and to improve public health and the humane and compassionate treatment of all animals.
