Please pick our Daisy! She is one of the most affectionate, devoted dogs I've ever met... which makes the fact that this is her third time at our shelter even more heartbreaking! In 2021, pups Daisy and Millie were surrendered by their family for "fighting with the cat." They were adopted together, but Daisy was returned in 2022 for fighting with Millie. Daisy ADORES humans, but living with other dogs stresses her out. Daisy doesn't pull at the leash or try to pursue other dogs -- at the shelter, she peacefully walks and lives side-by-side with them. She just can't share a house or be off-leash with other pets. During her second stay at the shelter, we learned that sweet Daisy is terrified of small children! She doesn't target them, but if they approach her, she cowers and barks. In 2022, Daisy was adopted again! She was a loyal and loving companion (a little needy -- she wants her people close... no, closer!), and life was good... until the couple moved to be near family. Suddenly, Daisy found herself surrounded by small children and in off-leash encounters with other dogs. Daisy was overwhelmed. She and a dog fought, the kids were scared, and now Daisy is back. Daisy is only 5-years-old, and she's already suffered so much loss - she lost three families! But Daisy hasn't lost hope. She hasn't lost her incredible love for people, her endearing wiggles, or her desire to learn and please! We were so sad when Daisy was returned... and she's been doing her best to cheer us up with kisses and cuddles and play! Please come pick our Daisy -- be the sunshine she needs to thrive, and she will brighten your world! Ok, just to be clear - Daisy needs a home with no other pets (cats or dogs), and no children under 12. Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton VA 23693 - Open every day between 9AM and 12 Noon. Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!
PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
