My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Catherine is a sweet and petite three-year old girl. Given her small size and youthful energy, she’s easily mistaken as a kitten. When found on the streets in the Bronx, she had a litter of kittens. She recently finished raising her two kittens and is looking for a forever home!

Catherine adjusts quickly and enjoys becoming friends with everyone in the household. Abrupt loud noises can be startling and catch her a bit off guard, leading her to hide briefly under the nearest available furniture. Less than a minute later, she’s back out and you will find her playing with toys or another cat. Catherine is good at using a scratch pad and is a healthy eater with a big appetite for a small girl. She loves being pet and also showing her affection for you by rubbing against you and giving you some pets back.

Catherine would enjoy being adopted as a single cat at the center of your world or to join in with your current cat crew.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
