Orla is a sweet and gentle cat looking for a soft place to land after being rescued from a hoarding situation.

Orla is the perfect entertainer, lover, and companion for a household looking for some extra warmth. She loves playing with her spring toys, cardboard boxes, and balls of paper. She will immediately warm up to you and any house guests, with purrs resembling a lawn mower, and sweet demands to be scratched and loved on. She’ll happily follow you around and check up on what you’re doing with her curious green eye. She is a happy eater, devout litter box user, and (mostly) zoomies with respect to your schedule. Orla will warm up your space and your heart!!

Orla was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

This cat has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and would benefit from an echocardiogram -- we would appreciate it if their potential adopter could help us cover this cost in lieu of an adoption donation.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

By appointment only. We offer to drive prospective adoptive prospects to the foster home. We also deliver pets to their new homes.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
