My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wiley!

This adorable 20-week-old Husky-Great Dane mix is a gentle soul who's still figuring out the world. Shy by nature, she's looking for a patient family that can help her build confidence through positive experiences and training. With a little time and understanding, she'll blossom into a loyal companion. She's still young and eager to learn, so ongoing training will be important in helping her grow into her best self.

Taking on a puppy is a big decision, and a life-long commitment to the dog! Before making the commitment, it is a good idea to research breeds and training techniques. Wiley won't be a puppy forever, and as she grows, there are some important things to keep in mind about her breed. Wiley is presumed to be a Husky/Great Dane mix, however we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test.

Husky's are known for their exceptional singing abilities! They often tend to be very vocal, howling and singing to express their thoughts. The mix of Husky and Great Dane guarantees that Wiley will be a very high energy dog, with high mental stimulation needs!

Adopting a puppy is a heartwarming choice, that not only brings joy to your life but also changes the course of a young dog's destiny. By adopting, you are not only saving a life but also gaining a loyal companion who will shower you with unconditional love and boundless happiness.

Could you be the one to help Wiley shine?

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
