My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Added to At Risk for behavior decline. Spike has been in our recovery suite for over a month and is not doing well. He can be selective with his human and dog friends, so a meet and greet is recommended for dog friends in the home. He is very sweet with the people he knows, and hot dogs are the way to his heart. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;This sweet boy was brought into the shelter after an unfortunate encounter with a porcupine, and thanks to the love and care of our veterinary staff, he is ready for a forever home. Spike can be shy at first, but when he feels comfortable, heandamp;#39;s a super sweet boy who loves to give hugs and kisses. He gets along with other dogs and likes to dip his toes in the pool. He seems to be kennel trained.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Spike is ready for a forever home, and after so much pain, he deserves a loving, comfortable place to rest. We do want to note that since there were so many quills embedded in his skin, it is possible that quills may still be expelled in the coming weeks. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Spike is about 2.5 years old, weighs 60 pounds, and is already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Heandamp;#39;s located at 5001 Fred Wilson, El Paso, Texas, open every day 11am-6pm.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
