My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apollo is a cute lil fella, he loves carrots but chinchillas should not have things like apples, celery, bananas, anything with acid in it (oranges). He is very timid due to not being handled much. He will not come up to the cage door to be picked up willingly. When cleaning his cage ensure the door is closed as much as possible… he will jump out and he is hard to catch. The chinchilla does require some maintenance too… he requires what is called a dust bath every 2 times a week. He will come with his cage, all the food and hay we have at the time, the bedding, and any treats/chew toys we have at the time too. He also has a little travel carrier that will go with him.

Additional adoption info

Once an application is submitted and reviewed you will be contacted via phone or email by one of our volunteers. We will go over your application with you. If your family/home is a good fit for the animal we will have you come meet the animal and if it is a love connection you may adopt and take the animal home that day.

More about this rescue

Our focus is on pulling from shelters and taking in local surrenders. Before adoption, all pets in our care will be spayed/neutered, brought up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested (treated if needed), dewormed and given a preventative for internal, intestinal, and external parasites.
