My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Tama is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***

Gray/cream/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 2/1/24, #19370

Cats: comfortable
Dogs: unknown
Children: calm older kids

Tama lost her home when her human family moved out and weren't able to take her with them. She moved into Rescue House foster care and is now hoping that her forever family is close on the horizon!

Tama is an extremely sweet and affectionate young lady. She enjoys sitting in your lap and receiving lots of pets and scritches... her fur is seriously soft and silky, so it's no hardship to pet this kitty! (While you gaze into her gorgeous eyes.) Tama needs some time to adjust to new environments and people, and she appreciates your encouraging patience through that period (Churu-type treat bribes are most welcome). But don't worry, once she is comfortable with you, Tama will be seeking out your affection and will flop right next to you! She'll let you hold her like a baby for quite a while if you're loving on her while doing so, and she purrs as soon as you start petting her. Overall she's a pretty mellow kitty, but she's still a kitten, so once she's fully settled in we expect she'll show off some youthful energy.

Tama has been unbothered by younger kittens jumping on her and playing with her tail; she is also okay with friendly adult cats, so we think she could do very well living with a kitty friend. We haven't observed her around dogs or children. A small mellow dog might be okay once properly introduced. Since Tama can startle easily, especially during her adjustment period, we think she'd prefer not to live with younger or overly boisterous children. Calm older kids would likely be fine.

Lovely sweet Tama is ready to make her special person very happy... will you be the lucky one?
