My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marvin, a young kitten looking for his furever home where he can be his playful, outgoing self.

Marvin came in with his sister, Marley, and would love to go to a home where they could stay together.

Marvin is the best of both worlds. He is a total love bug with a playful and curious personality. He will happily follow you around the house with his many purrs as well.

Marvin is confident, social, and loves to show off, often making his people laugh. He also loves to snuggle, when he is not too busy zooming around his cat tree or playing with his toys.

If you think Marvin could be your purrfect companion, submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
