My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I'm Hutch, an adorable and spirited Basset Hound mix (my mom is a Basset and my dad a mystery!) puppy, about 9 weeks old and full of wiggles and snuggles. As a young pup, I'm eager to learn and grow, and I'm looking for a patient and loving family who can help me navigate the world with kindness and understanding.

I'm too young to be neutered at the moment, so there is a refundable $200 fee in addition to my adoption fee. Don't worry-this fee will be returned to you once I've had my surgery and you provide proof of the procedure.

I'm already making great strides in my foster home. I'm crate trained and keep my kennel nice and tidy. When I'm let out of my crate, I make a beeline for the door to go outside, though sometimes I get a bit caught up in playtime and forget to signal when I need to potty. I'm working on it and getting much better every day! I know my name and will come running when called, and I love car rides and walks, even if I'm a bit slow because there's so much to explore!

Playing is one of my favorite activities-I adore spending time with my foster siblings, both the human and canine kinds. Toys are the best, and I especially enjoy nibbling on the long ears of my four-legged friends. My puppy energy is balanced with a love for napping, making me the perfect mix of playful and chill.

I'm ready to bring my joy and enthusiasm into any loving home. If you think you're the right family for me, please reach out to BROOD today. Let's make wonderful memories together! My adoption fee is $250.00.

**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. We adopt to residents of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania. Do not apply to adopt from BROOD if you live in another state. We require a virtual home visit and a veterinary reference.

The age of many BROOD dogs is unknown, as very few come with official records. The estimate on the dog's age is usually the initial estimate given by the receiving shelter, which may be different from that given at the time of the initial checkup. Different veterinarians may also give different ages, and those different opinions are sometimes reflected on the record. ***BROOD's adoption fees are determined based on the age of the dog. 09/07/2024
