Meet LAMB, an intelligent, curious, energetic companion with a lot of personality who seeks affection and security.
Lamb is a handsome, friendly, playful, curious, and confident doodle boy. He has a lot of energy so would be a fantastic addition to an active household, ideally with a large yard for him to blow off steam. He loves long walks and is making a lot of progress on his leash manners. With a bit of work, he could be an excellent running buddy. Lamb knows the basic commands like sit, down, and stay, and has recently and quickly learned touch, back, and crate. He loves his training sessions and could learn more skills easily with a patient instructor. He respects mealtimes and does not beg for food. Lamb only barks when very excited or frustrated. He is calm and quiet when his people come home but gets easily excited with newcomers and new situations. He has made great progress on self-control in his most recent foster home, He is strong and high-energy, sometimes forgetting how big he is. Because of this, he would not do well in a household where elderly, younger or smaller people visit regularly. His ideal home environment would be a calm, quiet home with people who are home most of the day and have a regular schedule. He’s very good when left alone (stressed about being left at first but settles down quickly). He’s had no accidents in his foster’s house and has been respectful of all things that are not his when alone. He does not seem to have any interest in jumping on furniture and is happy lounging on the carpet or wood floor in a sunbeam or on the comfy pad in his crate. He loves to look out the window and play with his toys in the house. He’s happier being able to roam the house during the day, but willingly, happily, and quietly sleeps in his crate at night.

Lamb is a smart, curious, loving dog with a ton of personality who is ready to find his forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and secure. If you want a dog to add love and excitement to your life, Lamb may be for you!

More about this rescue

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
