Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alfie is a bundle of love. He is always the happiest dog in the house and for him the best thing in life is you. He loves to snuggle up to you. He is about a year old and weighs 17 lbs but will not be getting bigger. He is a solid guy who loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He is also a character who takes all the toys into the backyard and then thinks the dog beds are better suited to be chewy toys.
Alfie loves people he meets as well as other dogs but he is still in puppy mode and will get all excited and bark upon first meet. He is a lover though and not a fighter so a quick “no Alfie” works great to get him to stop. He is super smart and catches on very quickly to what you want him to do if you stay consistent in teaching him.
Alfie has a lot of energy so his new family must be able to wear him out on walks, runs, or playtime with children. He would do best with children 7 years old and up. He needs a backyard to run around in and a canine companion for a friend to hang with during the day if you work long hours. He is crated when his foster mom goes out because of the dog bed thing where he will tear the beds up but she is never gone for more than an hour or so. Crating him for more than 2 hours would not work at all since he is such an active dog. Besides his addiction to dog beds, he is a very well-behaved guy. Alfie will make you smile.
Alfie is a gem and would be a fantastic addition to an individual or a family who is looking for a lover boy.
Alfie's adoption fee is $275.00. He is being fostered in San Francisco, CA.
