For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Jo meets new people without issue, she is good with children. She does love her walks and we think needs them every day, currently she goes between 1.5 and 3 miles a day. She really enjoys walks at the river and in the foothills, all the new smells, this can make the walk a bit slow as she is so set on smelling things but it doesn't take much to get her moving again.
She is an angel when left in the home alone. She mostly lays around or plays with her favorite toy, lamb chop. She doesn't counter surf or get on the furniture. She doesn't chew on anything. She is potty trained and knows how to use a dog door. She doesn't dig in the yard.
Jo enjoys playing with other dogs and does go to dog daycare once in a while. Jo does not care for cats or squirrels and will chase them.
Jo is an independent dog. She will get excited when you return home and show affection. But after a short amount of petting she is content to go about her day. She will happily lay at your feet or on her dog bed, she doesn't care for snuggling on the couch.
Jo's ideal family will enjoy walks. Would like a dog as a companion but doesn't want a velcro dog. A family that understands she may never be an overly cuddly dog but that Jo does love her family and will be loyal to them. Jo is approximately 5-6 years old and weighs 50lbs.
Jo is a sweet and gentle dog.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) non- profit, charitable organization. Our mission is to rescue dogs from overcrowded and high kill shelters, and place them in loving homes. We also strive to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spay/neuter, so that one day there will no longer be adoptable dogs, euthanized by the thousands in our shelters. We are an all volunteer organization. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the dogs.
