Meet the Pet
Slinky is a 6 year old special needs Doxy mix. This adorable boy is the sweetest, silliest boy. He is looking for a patient adopter that can care for his special needs. Slinky has IVDD (a degenerative disc disease common for Daschunds) and it causes him some mobility issues on his rear end. He is a little wobbly and not yet at the stage where a cart is needed - but he does have one that will go home with him so he has it when the time comes. He isn't completely incontinent and will go outside to potty but can have some leaking sometimes so he wears a diaper in the house. He does have control of his bladder and bowels and does not need manual help to relieve himself. He gets along great with other dogs, kids and cats. Due to his spinal issues it would not be safe for him to be with a large, overly playful dog that could be too rough with him or children too young to understand not to be too rough with him or try to lift him the wrong way.
Slinky's adoption fee is waived due to his ongoing medical needs. He comes with his cart, washable diapers and many other supplies including an adorable wagon that is used when he gets too tired to walk on his own while out and about. We know someone will see the differently abled soul that Slinky is and fall in love.
