My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Journey! Originally found as a stray in Spencer County, Journey is now looking for her forever home! Weighing in at 46 lbs at 4 years old, Journey thinks she's a lap dog. Basking in the love and cuddles of her people is her favorite pass time. She even enjoys being around kiddos! Journey does prefer dogs smaller than herself, making quick friends of one of our resident beagles. From stray to adoptable, this girl is looking for a fresh start. If you're interested in being part of Journey's journey, please submit an adoption form to ITVrescue.org

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
