Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm Dahlia and they say I'm such a dahlin' little lady! I am a perpetually happy girl and have quickly settled in with my foster family. I've already learned to go for neighbourhood walks on the leash and while I may stop and stare at other dogs and people with curiosity, it's just that... friendly curiosity! I'm not a fan of dogs who rush at me in excitement and I've got my fierce gurl growl to warn them off. But if you just want to come for a sniff? Please go right ahead! I'm happy to return the favour.
Not feeling like going for a walk? If you've got a fenced yard and want to practice your throwing arm, I have no shortage of energy for that! I might have been a greyhound in my previous life. I always show my foster mom where the ball landed and come right back to her with my happy smile. My foster sister might live up to her Retriever name, but I'm not falling for that! Challenge accepted if you think you can make me bring it back.
On that note, I'm currently living with the resident senior Lab and senior cat. They're used to us foster dogs I guess, because we've all living in peace, doing our own thing. I don't really know how to play with other dogs and I got the message loud and clear the cat doesn't want to play, so we all just co-exist peacefully. My new family should really work with me on patience and remembering not to jump on humans or animals. I keep forgetting that I shouldn't be using the Lab as a springboard to jump at foster mom for kisses. You'll need to remind me!
I'm easy peasy to feed, taking my meals in my crate for now and that's probably for the best for now. I can't resist nudging my fellow dog aside to eat and drink from her bowls. It just looks so much tastier when it's not your own! By the way, foster mom says I'm a champ at using the crate at night. Cover it up and I will snooze all night!
Here's the deal. I'm a happy, beautiful girl with the softest face that you'll just want to smother in kisses and oh, how I love that. But I had a tough beginning to life and I need you to be patient with me when I forget 'house' manners such as doing my business outside only, not jumping on you, and keeping my mouth to myself. But I know I can do it! I wouldn't mind some kids around me but just make sure they're a little older or you can supervise us until we both remember our manners, OK?
Oh, and I'm not high maintenance but my pretty face does need the spa treatment sometimes. Don't forget to clean my ears and trim my fur from time to time especially my fuzzy paws. I'm like a little Clydesdale horse!
I can't wait for new adventures!
And if you're not feeling like a hug? I'll take belly rubs anytime!

More about this rescue
We rescue mainly Bulldogs and other flat faced dogs!!!! We love the breeds and know they sometimes need extra care and love. Before you consider any of these breeds you should get familiar with the terms; cherry eye, entropian, dry eye, heat stroke, bloat, cruciate and know that sometimes these breeds can develop or have these issues. Also remember they drool, snore, pass gas and breath heavy this is not for everyone, but for us it is normal!
