My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Harlow!

Harlow arrived in our care as a stray, and she is now searching for her forever home. She is a sweet but timid dog who will need patience and understanding to help her feel safe and comfortable. With her favorite people, Harlow is affectionate and loves getting pets and scratches. Once she has expended her energy, she would be a great buddy to relax and curl up on the couch with.

Harlow is a very smart girl who loves her treats, so continued training would be a wonderful bonding experience! She can be unsure of new environments and may require some time to adjust. While she is getting used to her new space and family, Harlow's ideal home would have a safe and secure yard for her to enjoy, as she loves being outdoors. Once she has adjusted to her new life, Harlow would love to join her people on outdoor adventures.

Harlow has recovered from a previous injury and is looking for a family that can help monitor and manage it to ensure she stays comfortable. Due to her shyness, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children or adults only. While Harlow may do best as the only dog in the home, she could potentially make canine friends outside the house with the right introductions. With patience, she may also be open to having a feline friend.

If you're looking for a gentle and loyal companion, Harlow might just be the perfect match!

Do you think you could be Harlow's person? Here are some ways to find out:

1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or

2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.
