This beautiful girl is Lemon! Lemon was rescued as a stray, she was found with a broken tooth, heavily pregnant, and relying on cars for shelter. Despite these challenges, Lemon's spirit has shone through, and she's now ready to find her forever family!
Lemon is the sweetest girl! Outdoors, she's all about fun--playing fetch, enjoying her favorite toys, and running around with other dogs. She's also a big fan of chewing on bones. But when she's inside, Lemon turns into a calm and affectionate companion. She loves to curl up in bed with her humans and is always up for a cozy cuddle and a movie.
Lemon is dog- and cat-friendly, walks great on a leash, and loves to explore outdoors and visit brunch spots. She does well on car rides, during bath time, and at vet visits. Lemon is very food-motivated, which makes her a quick learner when it comes to learning new commands and tricks.

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
