My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Danube is a tuxedo tabby who is around 9 months old, and is looking for her forever home.

Danube (aka Nube) may be just a lil baby, but she’s the biggest goober in Brooklyn. Her dream is to be a state senator one day, and we think her outgoing personality makes her a great candidate. Nube will run up and greet you with head bonks and flops —this silly girl lives to make new friends. All it takes to win her over are some good vibes and a churu treat! Since Nubey is still a growing girl, she’s very food motivated and will really ham it up for some ham. Her mommy never taught her how to properly groom herself, so she will need some help brushing her pretty fur. While Nubey has youthful energy and loves to play, she’s just as content to curl up with you and chill out. She has pink toe beans and believes in free treats for all!

This cat needs to be adopted with a friend -- applications for them as a single cat will not be answered.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
