Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vito is an 11 month old, 12 pound Chihuahua and Pug mix. The designer name for his mixed breed is Chug. Vito was on the euthanasia list at a small Southwest Kansas shelter because of space. This adorable guy almost didn’t get the chance to live. He is the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggles.
Vito was holding up his right back leg when he arrived. X-Rays revealed the ball of his hip was flat and not round like it should be. It was also discolored on the X-Ray. We aren’t sure if Vito was born this way or a trauma caused this. Vito had an FHO procedure done. A Femoral Head Ostectomy removed the ball of the hip joint and part of the femur. This eliminated the source of the pain. Vito’s body has formed a false joint. He can do everything a normal dog does and is now pain free.
Vito does well with other small dogs and is good with cats. He would love to have a buddy to play with in his home and would really enjoy a fenced yard to run and do zoomies.
Vito is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
If you would like to meet Vito, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Vito, you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.
