If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
In a round-about way, through a friend of a friend's daughter, we have been fostering this cute, 11-month-old Chow for about 3 months. We've tried to do a good job of socializing him & feel he is ready for his forever home.
He's fully potty trained, knows sit, working on come, heel & stay. Does well on a leash, except when he sees a rabbit & wants to chase it. Doesn't bark at people or other dogs while on a walk. He can be leery of strangers who approach him and will growl and back up. Doesn't warm up quickly to new dogs but does have a few neighbor dogs that he enjoys walking with. Seems to like cats. He's good with waiting to eat his food, spinning in circles until the bowl is down, but can get a little possessive of chewing treats. Still a puppy & kind of a goof ball at times, especially when he gets the zoomies at night. Loves belly rubs, playing tug-o-war and patrolling the yard for rabbits.
Would do best with an experienced dog owner who can continue training him.
