My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Crimson is obviously lovely on the outside, but it's her beauty on the inside that will melt your heart. This Shepherd girl hasn't had the easiest couple of months. She sadly had to be given up after her beloved owner was moving, but she soon escaped from her new home and was on the loose for several weeks before an expert local dog rescuer was informed and quickly trapped her. We're happy to say she's adjusted well here and has been nothing but sweet and well-behaved. Everyone who meets her instantly falls in love, and vice versa as Crimson loves people. She's smart, playful, loyal and just a joy to watch happily running free in the yard. Her favorite thing in the is a flexible frisbee toy...she'll play fetch with that for hours, and politely drops it back at your feet and sits without being asked, waiting for you to throw it again.

Crimson will benefit from an active person or family who will run around with her, play fetch and go on lots of walks and adventures. She's NOT at all a fan of other dogs, but may be ok with cats (she's not reactive walking past them in the catio here). Crimson is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Fill out an application at the sanctuary or www.secondchanceas.org/adopt (Inquiries on online listings don't constitute an application)

2.

Interview

We will call your veterinarian and personal references. We'll also call you if we have questions or need more information.

3.

Approve Application

We will approve or deny the application. You may be approved to adopt, but not necessarily the same animal you originally applied for.

4.

Meet the Pet

This may be done before applying. You'll be asked to sign an adoption contract and to make a certain donation amount, rather than a set fee.

Additional adoption info

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
