Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Junie - Yorkie - Female - 1 Year - www.twyla.org
If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org
Meet Junie: this adorable 1 year old Yorkie girl came to us after the Hurricane and no owner was found. This delightful little girl is very breed typical: she loves attention, loves to snuggle and play with toys and other dogs, is currently pee pad trained and working on full house training. She know how to sit when asked, and will do so for the right treat, but not in wet gras ;). With the right motivation she will also come and lay down when asked, she is working on not jumping when she is excited and wants attention.
She sleeps in bed with her foster Mom and her foster (fur) brother, and loves snuggles on the Sofa on a lazy weekend afternoon. During the week, she is crated in a XL crate when mom is at work, and while not her favorite - she gets a little anxious and vocal - she does calm down after just a few minutes. She is also learning to calmly ride in the car - practice and patience makes perfect.
Junie is looking for a somewhat active home with another dog of similar size for her to play with. A Family - with or without older kids, that know not to leave front doors open and unattended - would be preferred, especially someone who is home a lot, she does not like to be home alone a lot. She doesn't shed so she will require regular grooming so the hair doesn't matt and cause her pain and restricted movement.
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
