My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our one-year-old bundle of joy, an energetic and playful pup who brings endless fun and affection into every day! He loves playing fetch in the house and enjoys a variety of toys, especially when he gets to chew on bones. His favorite adventure is visiting the off-leash dog park, where he can socialize and play with all the other dogs. He's very well-behaved and always comes running when his name is called.
A true social butterfly, he thrives around people and is the perfect patio companion. We have explored several patio restaurants and even made visits to the Truck Yard, where he's always the center of attention. He also loves going on walks and is excellent in the car-he settles in quietly for the ride until it's time to jump out and start exploring.
At night, this pup transforms into a cuddly companion, always wanting to be close to his humans. Whether on the couch or in bed, he finds comfort snuggled up next to you and impressively sleeps through the night without a peep, waking up only when you do.
He would thrive in a home with another dog or a family that can keep him entertained and busy, as he has plenty of energy to burn. Smart as a whip, he quickly learned commands like sit, stay, down, shake a paw, and turn around within just a few weeks! He's highly attentive and loves being talked to, picking up on new words quickly-so don't be surprised if he learns more tricks in no time!
With his charming personality and eagerness to learn, he's sure to bring love, joy, and lots of fun to any household!

Pongo is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue
