My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It was a Saturday morning when I saw this post by a friend and something tugged on my heart to save sweet Brock. Look at that face!!! And while a picture speaks a thousand words, no amount of pictures can explain how incredibly sweet this guy is.

Nicknamed "Love Bug by the people in the shelter, Brock gives excellent cuddles and his face is incredibly "smoochable.

Brock has been on crate rest as he is recovering from heart worm. Despite this, he has plenty of energy and wants to play. He is absolutely a people pleaser. One look from those eyes and your heart melts. It is almost as if he knows he was in danger of being euthanized and is not about to lose one minute of this second chance at life!

Toys? He loves them
Treats? He eats them
Walks? He takes them
People? He adores them

He's been described as a "Gentle Giant. At approximately 4 years old and 66 pounds Brock needs someone who is good with a larger dog that has energy. He was recently neutered and is overcoming heartworm. His heart worm recovery will be complete at the end of September.

As I work with him, train him, love him and get to know him, I'll update this bio with the latest adorable and wonderful things this special dog is doing. For now, all you need to know is that he is loving being loved, and he loves back.

Brock is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.

Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
