Bear was abandoned very early in his life and surrendered to Newport Beach Animal Control. Because of his emaciated state he was assumed to be older than a later evaluation concluded. He was thus left in the shelter's general population. In a home situation (perhaps for the first time) he bit on three occasions. Subsequent to these incidents he received professional training (along with his adopted "parents"). He has responded well to the training and there has not been any further incidents.
