My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLAYFUL, AFFECTIONATE & FUN:  Approx. 10 - 11 months old / Approx. 47 lbs. & growing

Hi, my name is Tootsie!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’ve been soaking up all the attention I can from the nice shelter volunteers who come to care for me.  I have heard them say that I am now ready to find a family of my very own, which makes me super happy – and excited for the great life that awaits me!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them.  So, if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet with my trainer and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I’ve met kids at Mostly Mutts that were 10 years and older and I did well with them, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet.  I am sometimes a bit jumpy and mouthy when I play, so best no overly rambunctious kids or toddlers.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a happy and playful pup with a beautiful personality!  I’m very active and fun and I’ve charmed the volunteers with my super sweet and friendly demeanor.  They say that I am a stunner:  my beautiful brown eyes and shiny chocolate brown coat always getting me plenty of attention!  I’m affectionate, young, and fun!  As beautiful as I am loving, you are sure to fall in love! / My energy level is 7–8, so let’s be active together!

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have improved on the shelter schedule, however I’m still having some accidents, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule so I can polish off my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and enjoy my time in the play yard with the volunteers – and some fun toys, of course!  I’d certainly enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can have lots of fun play sessions together. When it is time to relax, I love all the petting that comes my way.  A volunteer took me on a day trip to the park and I did really well in the car, so take me with you on lots of adventures! I love going on day trips with the volunteers! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet other than not getting enough exercise, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and continued training as well.

• MEDICAL:  I’m current on my immunizations, microchipped and spayed.  I was experiencing painful and reoccurring happy tail syndrome, so after careful consideration and recommendation from the vet, my tail has been shortened/docked for my comfort.  The good news is that it doesn’t bother me anymore and I have the cutest nubby tail!

If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
