My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tully
Tully is a tiny little chi mix who has never had a good day in her entire five years. She was removed from a hoarding situation to an animal control facility. Thankfully, the staff at the animal control fell in love with this tiny and scared pup. They spent a lot of time helping her decompress and getting her used to humans. Their work was wonderful and so kind. They asked if we could rescue her and bring her to our no-kill shelter so she would have a chance. We agreed, of course!
Tully has become so brave in her short time with us. She is uncertain and scared still, but soft voices and gentle hands are working wonders. Tully will need to go at her own pace, but she really wants to trust and be a part of a family. She is opening up more every day. Tully likes other dogs and another dog in the home may help give her comfort. She seems fine with cats. She will do well in a quiet home, with a family or person looking for a companion. Tully walks great on a leash and takes comfort from snuggling and being held. It makes her feel safe in an uncertain world. Tully has a pretty face, with big soulful eyes that break your heart. She is five years old and weighs just eight lbs. Tully was neglected in her previous house. She truly doesn’t understand what a family feels like. We think once she finds her person/family, she is going to be a love. She is a darling pup and we hope that she finds her furever home soon so she can begin process of healing her psyche.
This little girl is a gem. If interested in welcoming Tully to your life and family, please submit a dog application found online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website.
Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No Kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
