Hi, I'm Emi, your new best friend! I'm an affectionate and athletic adult dog who would love to join your pack. I'm friendly and love to meet new people, but I'm a bit shy at first, so please be patient with me. I am a happy dog and I love to run and play, so if you're looking for a buddy, I'm the perfect girl for you! I love to go on adventures, but I'm also content to snuggle up with you on the couch. I'm an all-around great dog, and I'm sure I'd be the perfect fit for your family. However, please note I will need to meet any other dogs and children. I have also been working with my new shelter friends on house-training so I will need a family that is patient and willing help me along. I came to the shelter with my mom Izzy as my owners were no longer able to care for us. But I promise to love you just as much as I did my previous owners! Our shelter is located at 204 Whitetail Road, between Coxes Creek Road and Antram Road. From Somerset, proceed West on Route 31. Just 1/2 mile past Giant Eagle, turn right onto Coxes Creek Road. Go one mile and turn right onto Whitetail Road. The shelter sits 3/10 mile on the right.

We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.

The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.

Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need.
