My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Winnie - an athletic, playful, and loving pup! Winnie came to the shelter as a stray found in Somerset County. She's a friendly lady who gets along with everyone, from people to other dogs. We would still ask that a meet n greet take place between Winnie and any other dogs or kids. Winnie is quite the social butterfly! Winnie is always eager to play and explore. She's a high-energy pooch who would make an excellent running or hiking buddy. She loves to be outside, so if you're an outdoorsy type, she's the perfect companion for you. Please note that Winnie is working on her house training and will need a patient owner to help her along. If you're ready for a fun and furry addition to your family, come meet Winnie today! She can't wait to meet you and show you how sweet and loving she can be.

More about this shelter

We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.

The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.

Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. If you would be interested in helping us care for our animal guests, please call the shelter at 814-443-2121.
