Cypress is ready for adoption!
11/20/2024 - Update from Foster!
Cypress lives in a multi-dog household, including a small dog weighing about 10 pounds. Despite being the largest, she takes up the least space. She loves her walks and is especially fond of meeting children, who are her favorite people to encounter. Cypress would thrive in a home with kids. She is very laid-back and calm. She has a fascination with squirrels and can watch them for hours. Although she hasn't been tested with cats, she didn't show any visible reaction to a cat during her visits to a seniors' home, where the residents eagerly anticipate her visits. She has no guarding tendencies. Cypress visited the groomer and the groomer has advised that Cypress is a very polite and easy girl to work with.
She is being fostered in Surrey, available for meet-and-greets with potential adopters!
Cypress is a 3½ year old Husky mix with a soft red & white coat and stunning heterochromatic eyes. She's fully grown at 50 lbs and 23” in height (floor to shoulder).
Everywhere Cypress goes, people stop to pet her and offer her compliments. It’s no surprise that she naturally draws attention because she’s sooooo personable, charming and good-natured. Cypress’ personality is pretty hard to beat so let’s tell you all about this sweetheart!
Cypress instantly likes everyone she meets, adults and kids alike. She makes friends easily, isn’t afraid of strangers, and shows confidence in all her social interactions.
Cypress adapts quickly to new places, showing no fear or anxiety when introduced to new environments. She’s happy to come along when you visit friends & family and totally content to stay at a doggy sitter’s home while you’re away. Her “go-with-the-flow” attitude is pretty impressive!
Cypress is amazing with other dogs. Does she like having doggie siblings? -YES! What about going to dog parks -ABSOLUTELY! Is she friendly when meeting new dogs during walks? -YUP! Cypress has a knack for reading other dogs’ cues and matching their energy/temperament.
Cypress is great with kids and would be a lovely addition for a family with children.
Cypress LOVES her walks, especially exploring and sniffing every nook with curiosity. Nature trails are always a hit! Dog parks are also fantastic - a great way to let her run to her heart’s content. She’s just a fun-loving girl with a happy-go-lucky spirit.
At home, Cypress likes to chill out after her activity time. She’ll happily snuggle with you on the sofa or just nap independently. She likes stuffies and will entertain herself with these around the house.
House training is going great - she’s 99% there!
Cypress is not a vocal dog and rarely barks. She will only whimper for about 5 minutes when left alone, then she stops and goes to sleep.
She is totally comfortable during car rides. She can hop in the backseat or into the back of an SUV. She enjoys sniffing out the window and letting the wind blow through her hair!
Cypress likes being primped - brushing her coat, cutting her nails, etc. She has no issues at all with being touched/handled.
She doesn't seem to like squirrels so she'll likely need a home without cats.
Cypress is still learning some doggy manners, like not jumping up on people when she’s excited to say hello! Sometimes she still pulls on the leash, but typically she'd rather take her time sniffing than trying to run ahead. She responds well to “no” when you offer a correction.
Despite her past, being abandoned on the streets of Mexico, Cypress has shown everyone her resilient spirit, kind heart, and fondness for people. She's absolutely ready for her forever home and a family to share her life with!
