My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This senior lady has a lot of love to give. Braelynn came to the shelter as she was found as a stray in a local camp ground. Braelynn is a calm and affectionate dog. Braelynn is the perfect companion for a calm household where she can be showered with love, affection and enjoy nice leisurely walks. She seems to do well with other dogs and cats. Since her time with us Braelynn has shown signs of food aggression with other animals. We strongly believe that with time this could be worked on with a little training, till then we would recommend that Braelynn be fed separately from other animals. She may be older, but Braelynn still has plenty of love, snuggles, and affection to give. If you're looking for a best friend who will always be by your side, Braelynn is the one for you

More about this shelter

We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.

The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.

Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. If you would be interested in helping us care for our animal guests, please call the shelter at 814-443-2121.
