My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:


Max is an 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix, weighing 21 lbs. He’s playful, affectionate, and loves being the center of attention. Great with people of all ages, especially kids, he enjoys walks and belly rubs. Max is mostly house-trained but has had occasional accidents and may need a bit more training here.

While he’s wonderful with people of all ages and is extremely friendly, Max doesn’t get along well with other dogs, so we’re seeking a home where he can be the only pet. Due to family changes, we’re helping my in-laws rehome him. Max’s owner travels extensively, and though my in-laws love him, with three young kids, they can’t provide the care he needs.

Max is up to date on his shots (vet visit in July). He’s slightly overweight (2-4 lbs) and has mild dental tartar. We’ll provide a list of foods that suit him, as some meats upset his stomach.

Max is ready for a loving home where he can thrive as the only dog.
