My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Monroeville, NJ.

Poppy is an adorable 8 month old heeler mix puppy. She is very shy at first and does not care for strangers … because of this she will need an understanding and patient home. BUT… this dog absolutely loves her “person” and is completely loyal once she attaches to you!!! She loves nothing more than to be with her people. Poppy would be a great farm dog!
Poppy is good with other dogs as long as they are not too pushy. She pays no mind to the horses and even goes out with me to feed them and waits patiently while I do my chore. Seems a bit timid of cats. She has medium energy and doesn’t seem to herd or heel people. She is a Velcro dog and has excellent recall.

Poppy seed is house trained, Crate trained and is doing well with leash training and basic manners. She sleeps through the night in a crate next to my bed.
Poppy is spayed and UTD on current vaccinations and preventatives. And would do best in a home without children.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
