My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He loves it when you call him "Big Poppa."

This handsome big guy is just about the sweetest bun you will ever meet. He's very (very) large and will need double the space an average rabbit would in his future home. A regular exercise pen will be too small to keep him in permanently. You can probably put two together and make enough space, but he will still need extra run time because larger rabbits have a tendency to get too heavy and be overweight, which Frosty was when he came to us.

We kept him in a strict diet and he was able to shed the pounds and get fixed a couple weeks ago. He is all healed up and looking for his forever home!

Apply to meet this big boy today, and please ensure you have the room to accommodate such a large rabbit. He's a total babe so we would love to see him find a new home soon!

Additional adoption info

We vet check our potential adopters and give an extensive questionnaire as part of the application. We deny adoptions for any reason including previous history with animal abuse, no vet record for current pets, not planning to spay/neuter when of age, etc. We also provide education to the adopters who are unsure about rabbit care, handling, or diet and provide support even after the rabbit is rehomed. The adopters are required to have a 2 week foster period to ensure that the rabbit will work out for the family and the adoption contract states that the animals must be returned to our facility in the event of needing to rehome in the future. We also schedule the spay/neuter with the adopter before taking home the animal.

More about this rescue

At Dolly & Friends, we are passionate about the well-being of the small animals in our community. We provide the highest quality foster/adoption, sanctuary, education, and temporary boarding services for our small furry friends.

We aim to find loving homes for all small mammals in our facility and community, and in the process educate the public on proper rabbit and guinea pig care through free events and teachings. We advocate for indoor living, desexing of the animals, and adequate enclosure spaces so the rabbits we adopt out will have the same V.I.P. treatment as they did with us. Dolly & Friends also works closely with our local humane societies and SPCA’s to handle their intakes for small animals so they can focus on the dogs and cats that are in need of homes. We love supporting our local animal non-profits!
