Pickleball is a 6 year old Schnauzer mix who is ready to hit the court and play with his forever family! Pickleball was rescued from the shelter by one of our volunteers. We have no idea how a dog this incredible landed behind bars but we knew we had to jailbreak him and that we did! Pickleball weighs 28 pounds and he is full of love and smiles. Since he is a mix, he does not have a true hypoallergenic coat but he could be an option for those with light allergies. Serve yourself some Pickleball today!

Pickleball is a loving and happy dude who can’t wait to show the world how amazing he is! He loves sitting by the window as the world goes by, but he also loves cuddles and a game of fetch. He is the perfect companion for a long hike, a camping trip, a trip to the coffee shop, or a movie marathon on the couch! Pickleball is known to roll over onto his belly immediately upon meeting a new person, encouraging them to give him all the pets and snuggles. He also loves toys of all kinds. From tennis balls to Lamb Chop, as long as you have a treasure chest of goodies he will make it his own! Pickleball is super smart as well and is eager to please. He is the perfect example of how you can teach an older dog new tricks! Pickleball can even bring you closer as a family, as he will rope everyone into evening playtime in the yard! If you are looking for a low-maintenance dog that is ready to offer you the very best friendship you could hope for, Pickleball is the perfect choice!

Pickleball starts his morning with a stroll around the block at 7:15 AM. Once he gets home, he enjoys his breakfast followed by a long nap. Once he’s up, he plays a few rounds of fetch while his foster parents start their day. He spends his days hanging out with his people or lounging in the backyard. He also loves sitting by the window and watching the world go by. He gets another game of fetch in the afternoon and heads out for his long afternoon walk around 6 PM once the weather starts to cool. He has dinner upon his return around 7 PM. In the evening, Pickleball enjoys soaking up cuddles and kisses from his foster people. He watches TV with them and plays with his ever-expanding collection of plush toys. After one last trip out for potty before bed, he heads to his crate for the night at 10 PM.

Pickleball gets along well with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would be a good solo dog or as an addition to an existing dog. He loves his people, old and young! Pickleball is working on his leash walking skills but would benefit from some additional training. Pickleball is house trained and crate trained. He is such a delightful presence in the home of his foster people and they absolutely adore him. You won’t ever want to leave the courts once you adopt Pickleball!

Pickleball is an option for any home, regardless of prior experience. He would be a fabulous first-time dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
