My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Kali!

Kali is an affectionate girl with a strong love for Temptations treats. Like many calicos, she has a bit of "cattitude" and isn't afraid to show it! Kali has a bit of an independent streak and isn't a fan of being picked up. She can sometimes become overstimulated during play or petting, which might lead her to gently grab your hand and give a light bite.

Kali does not get along well with other cats and would do best in a home where she can be the only pet. Her new human should be mindful of her boundaries, especially when it comes to handling and playtime. Kali is best suited for a quiet, single-pet home with someone who can give her the love and attention she craves while respecting her personal space.

She will make a loyal and loving companion for the right person or family. If you're looking for a loving, loyal companion who enjoys treats and will be your best friend, Kali is the perfect cat for you. She'll fill your home with affection and joy, as long as you respect her boundaries and give her the space she needs to feel comfortable.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
