My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello world! My name is Beans!

I am a special guy looking for a unique adopter. As you can probably see, my skin and coat has seen better days, but boy oh boy, do I feel better then when I first came into the BC SPCA care! My staff tell me that I am looking more and more handsome everyday.

I am on a lot of medication to manage my skin, eye, and ear issues. The shelter staff even have to give me eye medication 3 times a day! I did not like getting my eye meds done at first, but I am much more cooperative now (Don't worry, I have trained them well and they always give me treats after). I will likely need to be on these medications for life, so I will have to learn to be a good boy about it eventually! Although I am not currently on a special hypoallergenic diet, it is a possibility I will need to be on one in the future.

Now that I am feeling better, I am a wild boy who loves my toys! But after a good play and a walk, I just want to be close to my people and get lots of cuddles. I feel safest when being held and often take naps in the arms of my favourite people. I am told I make a great companion dog and would prefer to be with my people more often then not.

I am looking for a local adopter that has a flexible work schedule to accommodate my future vet appointments. The shelter staff said I can go "Foster to adopt" until I am cleared by the vets to be fully adopted!

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Beans's person? Fill out our pre-adoption questionnaire today!

Have you had any previous pets? What makes you the perfect match for this animal? Write as little or as much as you'd like!

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.
