My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley is an extremely playful, smart and energetic dog who loves toys and cuddles. He knows a handful of tricks, including sit, shake, down, roll over, kisses, and pray. Oakley also loves to play with other dogs and we have never had any issues with him interacting with other dogs. In fact, he has reviews of being “Mr. Popular” when he’s been to doggie daycare! We did a DNA test on him recently and discovered he is a mix of 14 different breeds.

Oakley does require a home without young children and can be protective of his people. He is very loyal so slow introductions with new friends entering the home is important. Oakley is currently in a foster home so we have lots of valuable information on this boy to see if he might be a fit for your family.

Oakley also has a sponsored adoption fee!!

Oakley is 5 years old and weighs 61 pounds.

More about this shelter

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
