My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet French Fry, an endearing black and white female cat with a heart full of affection and a personality that's as unique as her name. Though she may be shy at first, French Fry's gentle nature and soft purrs quickly reveal a deep well of love and warmth. She thrives in serene environments and is best suited for a quiet home without children, where she can feel safe and gradually come out of her shell. With a little patience and a lot of love, French Fry will blossom into a loyal and cherished companion, bringing a touch of sweetness to your life every day.

We don't know much about her past, but she spent a lot of time outdoors with no home to call her own. Luckily, she was able to survive by the kindness of strangers leaving out food for her and eventually she was brought to the shelter where she is currently hoping to find a place where she can be inside, safe and warm all the time. French Fry came in with broken teeth and will need them removed. She is not yet ready to go home for good until her surgery is complete. Please talk to the staff at the Kamloops BCSPCA for more information. If you are interested in adopting, you can come in during open hours or fill out an application at the link below.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
